Mason & Benson lakes Block Watch

Block Watch yard signs and window decals are available now. The yard signs are 9" X 12" made of
durable plastic and cost $6.00 each. Window decals are free to block watch participants.  NEVER ATTEMPT TO INVESTIGATE OR APPREHEND A SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY OR PERSON

Block Watch Coordinators:  ???

Responsibilities of the Coordinators:
• Act as liaison between Mason Lake Block Watch members, law enforcement officers, civic groups and block captains.
• Forward suspicious activities reported by Block Captains to Sheriff's office weekly.
• Communicate and coordinate Mason Lake Block Watch activities/meetings with Block Captains.
• Maintain a master list of Block Watch participants at Mason Lake.
• Provide summary crime statistics for Mason Lake.
• Arrange neighborhood crime prevention training programs.
• Encourage participation in "Operation Identification."

Block Captains Responsibilities:
• Act as liaison between block residents and Block Watch Coordinators.
• Document suspicious activities reported by residents to Block Watch Coordinators weekly.
• Establish and maintain a Phone Tree for your block.
• Visit new residents and invite them to get involved.
• Regularly contact block residents to discuss potential crime problems, needs for assistance, and suggestions for program improvements.

Block Resident Responsibilities:

NEVER ATTEMPT TO INVESTIGATE OR APPREHEND A SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY OR PERSON
If a crime is suspected, call 911 and report it.

• Document suspicious activities and report them first the Sheriff department and then to your Block Watch Captain.
• Be actively involved in your Block Watch meetings and related activities.
• Visit new neighbors on your block and invite them to get involved.
• Regularly communicate with your neighbors and Block Watch Captain
