2020 Adopt-A-Family

posted Oct 21, 2020, 5:47 PM by Mason Benson Center

It's time once again for the MBC Adopt-A-Family for Christmas program!  Last year was such a huge success that this year we are including more families to help.

Grapeview School is identifying 5 families that could use some help making Christmas extra-special.  They'll be giving us a list of needs and wants for the chosen families, including sizes and ages.  In addition to gifts and gift cards for the 5 families, we will be donating grocery gift cards to at least 5 more families this year.  You can donate money, and the elves are happy to shop for you and wrap the gifts.  Or you can choose gifts from the list and do the shopping and wrapping yourself!  I'll have the Wishlist from the school by November 15th, but you can contribute money any time you like.  Mail checks (made out to Nancy Starr) to 800 Mason Lake Dr South, Grapeview, WA, 98546, or email me at if you have questions.

If you choose to purchase a gift, please let me know so we won't have duplicates.  Be assured that we will make your donation go as far as possible - we look for specials and sales, and utilize Kohl's Bucks to make the money go even further. Last year we even had Kohl's Bucks that were good to spend AFTER Christmas so we purchased pillows and blankets for the Shelton women's shelter.  I'll be sending out emails with progress reports - let's see if we can top the wonderful response we had last year!

Annual Flea Market Needs Leadership

posted Mar 2, 2020, 8:13 PM by Mason Benson Center   [ updated Mar 14, 2020, 3:29 PM ]

The MBC Annual Flea Market generates about $15,000 each year for club maintenance and activities.  It has been happening for many years and several of our older members are 'wearing down' with it's weight.  We need some new leadership on the Flea Market...are you willing to serve?  We need a Chairperson(s) to help organize the many volunteers.  If nobody steps forward by May 15, the Annual Flea Market will NOT happen this year.  Please call Bob Leslie, 360.621.6726, if you are interested in serving in this capacity or if you need more information on the job duties.
